The death warrant for Stacey Humphreys expired on Wednesday, December 24.

While this execution was not carried out, it is a stark reminder that
Georgia continues to willingly engage in state violence.

Jury misconduct in Stacey Humphreys trial led to his death sentence. However, because Georgia's law does not allow juror testimony to impeach a verdict, the actions of the juror who coerced their fellow jurors to support a death sentence cannot be considered by the courts.
