Alongside advocates and attorneys who have spent decades seeking a change to Georgia's law on intellectual disability in capital cases, Governor Kemp signed House Bill 123 to bring our state's law into line with the 2002 Supreme Court decision Atkins v. Virginia.

Three members of Georgia Catholics Against the Death Penalty were present at the capitol on May 13 to witness the signing of the bill.
